The 'Wavefinder' series of books uses a series of mini 'data-maps' and 'icons' to help you quickly identify the best conditions for each break, the icons also indicate the type and direction of each wave. "The wavefinder series are must have books. Put them in your glove box and you're set. Wake up, find out the local break is flat? Check the weather out (wind direction etc) and consult this little book. You will find a break that will be working. Set out nicely, lots of little diagrams explaining where the break is. Tells you the break type, level of surfer it is suited to and all other info you need to come with! Most beaches even tell you where to get your cup of tea from or local surf shop too."
